The Competence Center for Cultural Heritage Digitization at Fraunhofer IGD develops and applies 3D scanning technologies using photogrammetry and structured light.

These technologies allow 3D reconstruction of cultural heritage and industrial objects. Depending on object properties and quality requirements different acquisition setups are used.


What you will do


Your task as a member of a team will be to plan, construct and build 3D scanning systems, subassemblies or prototypes, in order to meet the individual requirements of different scanning projects.

This entails getting hands-on experience with 3D scanners, robots and 3D printers.


What you bring to the table

  • Required:
  • Physical presence in our labs
  • Precise, responsible, and independent worker
  • Proficient English skills
  • Knowledge in electronics / mechatronics
  • Skill in craftsmanship (wood
- and/or metalworking)

  • Advantageous (or willing to learn):
  • Soldering skills
  • Skills in CAD, e.g. Autodesk Inventor, SIEMENS NX or similar
  • Experience with microcontrollers
  • Experience in circuit design
  • C++ programming skills
