Postdoc Position (TVL E13, 100%) (f/m/d)
working with geospatial datasets e.g. in Google Earth Engine, Microsoft's Planetary Computer, or other
GIS software such as ESRI Arcmap. This is a full-time position (100 %), initially for 2.5 years with the
possibility of extension up to 5 years.

  • The goal is to identify under which conditions public policies effectively and effi
- ciently mitigate global land degradation. To this end, very large spatial datasets
will be created and analyzed using state-of-the-art econometric techniques for
causal inference, followed by cost-benefit and heterogeneity analyses.***
Your

tasks:


  • You will work with coauthors from all over the world to produce novel, gridded
datasets of land conditions and their changes at the global level. Some of these
maps will be published on their own whereas others will be used for the evalua
- tion of public policies aimed at mitigating/reversing land degradation.

Your

profile:

other spatial science. We are looking for fluency in GIS, good communication
skills, and a strong interest in the project. Programming skills e.g. in Python are a
strong bonus.
