Aufgaben:

The Mercedes-Benz Group AG is one of the most successful automotive companies in the world.

With Mercedes-Benz AG and the divisions Mercedes-Benz Cars, Mercedes-Benz Vans and Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG, the vehicle manufacturer is one of the largest and most successful suppliers of premium passenger cars.

A crucial ability of autonomous vehicles is to gain a comprehensive understanding of their surroundings. The LiDAR sensor have been proven useful in collecting information about the proximate environment of the vehicle.

Deep neural networks are used to understand this data and provide a reasoning about the underlying scenery for decision making.


In the department of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) components, we are responsible for all sensor hardware necessary for assisted and automated driving.

This includes Radar, Lidar and Camera sensors and their perception algorithms.

In the LiDAR software team we are constantly evolving and improving the algorithms that fuel a safe and reliable LiDAR-based environment perception for autonomous vehicles.


For this exciting field of work, our group is looking for support in several tasks regarding the LiDAR-based environment perception for autonomous vehicles.

**Some tasks might be: - Tooling for the deep learning pipeline

  • Supporting the team with project tasks
  • Implementation of new features and collaboration on research projects
  • Preparation of new experiments

Qualifikationen:

**We are looking for the following qualifications: - Solid programming knowledge in Python

  • Very good communication skills and proficiency in English and German
  • Experiences with MS-Office
  • Engagement
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Analytical way of thinking and strategic way of working
  • Ability to work in a structured and independent manner
  • Depending on the task: Basic knowledge in deep learning and statistics
  • Experience in Tensorflow is desired but not required
