Your role:

As a Regulatory Toxicology Expert for our Life Science division, you will be working in a global network of experts and ensuring all chemicals are classified in accordance with applicable global regulations.

To process and review the Life Science chemical portfolio consisting of upwards of 100,000 unique neat chemicals and hundreds of thousands of mixtures, a variety of automated tools will be at your disposal.

But you will not only work with lists, but will also thoroughly evaluate hazards of individual chemicals using literature data, read-across or prediction models (e.g. based on Quantitative structure-activity relationship).

In addition to the technical and academic requirements of this position, you must also be comfortable developing your expertise within an international team.

This role requires well rounded communication and collaboration skills as many projects and initiatives will require the input and support from EH&S, manufacturing, trade compliance, regulatory compliance, and others in order to be successful.

This role includes the classification of chemicals according to the Globally Harmonized System for classification and labeling (GHS). You will be working closely together with other teams world-wide, e.g.

in supporting the implementation of the EU Chemical Strategy for Sustainability or in supporting customer inquiries related to the toxicological properties of our materials.

The role also contains literature research related to regulatory and risk-based data, interpretation of toxicological prediction models and maintenance of the results in SAP EHS.

You will update product and substance databases, as well as product descriptions.


Who you are:


  • Master's or PhD in toxicology, pharmacology, chemistry, environmental sciences, cheminformatics, biochemistry or a related field
  • First workexperience in classification and labeling according to GHS
  • DABT or equivalent qualification is preferred but not a must
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to GHS and REACH
  • Expertise in hazard communication
  • High IT affinity (Office 365, data analytics)
  • Experience in SAP EHS systems is an advantage
  • Very good communicating skills and a good teamplayer
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Able to work comfortably in a dynamic, high throughput environment
