Airbus Helicopters is looking for a


System Design Responsible - Airplane doors (d/f/m):
The department "Airplane Doors Design" is responsible for all design activities in the entity of the airplane doors development.

The main activities are the support to production or in-service support such as sustainable improvements of the existing products and the development of competitive new door systems.


Your location:


At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product.

Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities:


  • Definition and planning of development projects and change requests for passenger and cargo doors of the legacy fleet (WB, SA, LR, A380)
  • Coordination of all development activities starting from the concept up to detail design, drawing release and documentation within the squad
  • Design & configuration of complex composite, machined and sheet metal parts for passenger and cargo doors in CATIA V
  • Verification and approval of drawing sets towards the valid design rules as well as t echnical alignment with the external customer and internal with design and production
  • Fulfillment of time, cost and quality ambitions as well as p reparation and presentation of design reviews

Desired skills and qualifications:


  • Degree in the field of engineering: mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar
  • Several years of practical experience in aerospace engineering
  • Experience in the development of aerospace structures
  • Very good knowledge of composite materials and metallic lightweight materials and v ery good analytic and conceptional abilities
  • Very good knowledge of CATIA V5, good knowledge of VPM, experience with PDM systems and MS Office
  • Knowledge of AIRBUS drawing and BOM system TAKSY appreciated
  • German and English: negotiation level
