The Trade Desk is growing at a fast pace, and we are seeking a team member to join our People Operations Team to deliver exceptional service to our global employees.

People Operations strives, every day, to meet the needs of our employees by continuously developing and improving our strategy to deliver operational efficiency and an amazing employee experience.

We are looking for a professional with a strong employee relations, compliance, and performance enablement background.

Having experience with German labor laws, an operational mindset to handle complex employee inquiries that may require cross functional collaboration are crucial to this position.

The individual in this position will join a team of People Ops professionals who are committed to the efficient and timely resolution of inquiries with a laser focus on an exceptional employee experience and a consistent customer service approach.

You will be part of the global People Operations team reporting to the Director, People Relations.


What You Will Be Doing:


  • Manage and ensure compliance with all employment law regulations, social relations and practices for The Trade Desk primarily in Germany, but in other countries in EMEA as well.
  • Serve as a trusted partner in the employee experience by building and facilitating people relations and compliance processes that emphasize fair, consistent, and respectful outcomes.
  • Ongoing partnership with managers to identify and support teams across the full spectrum of work performance needs.
  • Support employees in work performance matters, enabling effective performance conversations and outcomes.
  • Provide coaching to managers on how to engage in productive career conversations.
  • Proactively identify, manage and monitor risks and propose improvements and risk mitigation strategies for TTD in Germany, and other countries as well.
  • Effectively manage employee and labour relations, preparation, and presentation for meetings of staff representatives, trade unions, works councils, etc.
  • Continuously project manage active employee inquiries working with cross functional partners to drive complex issues to resolution for the employees ensuring high quality, consistent service delivery.
  • Assist in handling grievance, disciplinary actions, performance, accommodations, and other compliance matters primarily in Germany but in other countries in EMEA as well.
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership and managers that are compliant with local regulations on performance measures that should be taken in response to individual needs.
  • Serve as an escalation point and provide senior leadership/managers guidance on complex matters.

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; relevant master's degree, law degree and/or professional certifications a plus
  • Robust experience working in employee/labor relations in a shared service environment with solid, working knowledge of relevant best practices
  • Adept with using an HRIS for reporting and documentation
  • Strong ability to build trust, along with demonstrated ability to drive and lead results
  • Resultsdriven ability with problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and across functional areas
  • Agile and able to adapt as projects and priorities change and able to remain composed, positive, and gritty in the face of any setbacks or challenges
  • Able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives and to discover solutions and build consensus
  • Stellar communication skills (written and verbal), conflict management and resolution skills with experience in delivering sensitive messaging of all types to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Generous and open communication style
  • Fluency in German and English required
  • Ability to travel occasionally, as needed
