Main Focus


Responsible for the Australia business including the Banksmeadow Site by managing and overseeing overall plant operations which includes, manufacturing, process control systems, engineering, quality assurance/control, environment, safety and health, shipping and receiving, sales, distribution, purchasing, accounts receivable / payments, IT and regulatory reporting.

Making sound business and economic decisions for the site that ensure long
- and short-term goals are met.

Accountabilities

  • Signatory for HSBC, ANZ, Cloud Payroll, and all statutory bodies (EPA, Workcover, Chemical Weapons Inspections)
  • Have a proactive safety mindset by participating and engaging in all safety activities including compliance with all rules and regulations
  • Maintain OPTIMIST standards are your responsibility and kept up to date, following and enforcing all internal safety, quality, security, environmental, and health policies and procedures to maintain and improve the safety mindset at the facility
  • To be responsible for timely submission of activities and reports to inform the global OPEX team and others of the status of plant activities
  • Be a buyer for your production of raw materials, services, packaging and equipment as needed
  • Through strategic thinking, set goals to ensure the Banksmeadow site meets or exceeds established objectives
  • Improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations in terms of controlling spend budget and setting sales targets
  • Accountable for all Sales and Marketing activities in Australia proactively researches and interprets relevant industry/competitive information and identifies opportunities to develop innovative strategies, tactics, and solutions
  • Collaboration and coordination with external contractors (CIB, UHY, Solvay and other third parties)
  • You have an open management style and enjoy exchanging ideas with your employees

Requirments

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other Engineering Degrees
  • More than 5 years of experience with process engineering and operations in a chemical plant and maintenance of equipment in the chemical or petrochemical industry
  • Understands Process Safety Management
  • Have extensive experience in leading and mentoring young engineers
  • Able to think strategically while managing day to day activities hands on
  • Excellent commercial acumen and judgement
  • Evidence of having a passion for working with people and working beyond the confines of the job description
