JOB OVERVIEW:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Supporting patent attorney interactions with national and intergovernmental intellectual property organizations through paper and electronic submissions, both directly inhouse and through outside IP attorneys and agents to ensure the timely receipt of patent office communications and timely filing of appropriate responses.
Preparing and maintaining patentrelated event docket due dates reflecting filing and pending prosecution, including following and contributing to department standard operating processes/procedures.
Supporting the inventor remuneration process.
Significant work with and ideally administering patent database/software systems, preferably CPA Memotech or similar system, used in an IP law department.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3+ years' experience in patent prosecution support for filing and administration of EPO, WIPO, GPTO, and international patent/IP portfolios in private law firms and/or inhouse corporate law departments.
Patent paralegal, or comparable education.
Knowledge of the German inventor remuneration process and associated information tracking would be beneficial.
Experience with patent office databases, such as the European Patent Register, Espacenet,
DPMAregister, DEPATISnet, USPTO databases; and advanced internet research skills a plus.
Other office/administrative skills, including agility in Microsoft Office, Concur travel/expense reporting, and general other administrative support.
Proficiency in English. German language skills are beneficial.
