Description


SAIC is seeking a qualified Security Support professional for the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Germany.

The role of this position is to support the USAFE-AFAFRICA Warfare Center (UAWC).


AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.


The Security Support professional will:

  • Assist UAWC Security in performing the following duties:
  • Supporting the UAWC Exercise Joint Exercise Life Cycle by ensuring personnel resources meet the Security requirements by managing and coordinating in-processing and out-processing of LVC exercise support personnel, to include military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Maintaining the personnel security automated databases and manual security records and files to support IA personnel security processes.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the LVC infrastructure Physical/Industrial Security Program.
  • Assisting the security specialist with administering the information security program and ensures all annual securitytraining requirements are met.
  • Initiating and processing requests for classified visits, to include inspecting applicant supporting documentation such as proof of citizenship, birth certificates and/or naturalization certificates.
  • Determining the adequacy and completeness of the electronic personnel security questionnaire and requesting additional investigations if needed.
  • Assisting in developing personnel security policies and procedures.
  • Providing security guidance to UAWC customers.
  • Maintaining the collateral Security Clearance Access Roster (SCAR).
  • Preparing and submitting recurring reports to higher headquarters (HHQ).
  • Participating in multidiscipline security inspections and surveys.
  • Serve as a Contract Special Security Representative (CSSR), assisting the UAWC Government security personnel in performing the following duties for SCIFAF04034:
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the facility's Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) security program.
  • Maintaining proficiency and familiarity with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Attend required training relative to assigned duties.
  • Guiding and assisting in the use of proper procedures for handling, storing, and transporting SCI.
  • Centralizing and maintaining appropriate security forms used in conjunction with daytoday SCIF operations.
  • Maintaining the personnel security automated databases and manual security records and files to support IA personnel security processes.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the Physical/Industrial Security Program as required by the exercise support office workload.
  • Assisting the security specialist with information security program and ensures all annual required securitytraining requirements are met.
  • Reviewing, updating, and verifying personnel security data using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Maintaining and updating SCIF security documentation such as, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guides, instructions, and templates.
  • Conducting scheduled and unscheduled (random) selfinspections.
  • Assisting in coordinating and supporting inspections and/or security program reviews conducted by HHQ.
  • Promptly reporting any security incidents (infractions and violations) to the USAFE-AFAFRICA. Assist in conducting any investigations as requested.
  • Documenting and implementing corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Performing other related duties in support of security for SCIFAF as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor's and five (5) or a Master's and three (3) years of experience, or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Direct experience in supporting and coordinating security functions within a US DoD government or industry entity.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
  • Knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to assist in planning and implementing security programs in these areas.
  • Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist in establishing and operating internal security programs.
