Reporting to the SVP Head of Corporate Communications, the VP, CoE Internal & Employee Engagement Communications will lead the Internal & Employee Engagement Communications Center of Excellence (COE) as part of the Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) Global Communications organization and will drive the team across a highly matrixed organization building internal & employee engagement communications strategies.

Crafting compelling content that serves the global Organization while also building a shared understanding of Business goals and priorities. In this, the Head of Internal & Employee Engagement Communications will own delivery of a global Internal Communications strategy that informs, inspires and engages over employees in 100 countries

  • Contribute to FME overall strategy achieving its objectives and goals by informing and engaging over employees in 100 countries in multiple languages. This leader owns the development and delivery of a communications engagement strategy that connects, and inspires our employees around the world.
  • Lead a team in building and executing internal communication strategies and plans and crafting compelling content that builds a shared understanding of organizational goals and priorities.
  • Fosters engagement and dialogue among employees and amplify employee voices across the organization, continually striving to create a more engaged and inclusive work environment, driving change and transformation activities
  • Ensures global communications campaign development and ensures global amplification
  • Work closely and collaborate well with partners across a highly matrixed organization including DE&I, Transformation Office, HR, DTI, CEO, MB, CD and CE.

Your assignments:


  • Create and deploy a global internal communication strategy that supports the organization's global strategic priorities, including FME25, culture transformation, our patient centric mission, increased profitability, and a winning culture.
  • Create and lead the Internal Communications CoE toward ever more diligent and proactive communication approaches through internal campaigns i.e. awareness days, events and activities to support Fresenius Medical Care employees remain engaged and supported through ongoing organizational transformation and change.
  • Manages content development support for Business Partners
  • Manages successful concept and execution of internal events (Townhalls, Fireside chats etc.)
  • Provide executive communications counsel to the Management Board, Executive Team and senior level leaders, to help leaders keep staff engaged and informed.
  • Create a CoE culture that celebrates new, global communication mindsets and cultivates continuous alignment between Business Partner and organizational strategic objectives.
  • Develop and track analytics and metrics that demonstrate effectiveness of deliverables and tactics, 2 identify key learnings, trends, and opportunities for improvements
  • Help develop tools and approaches within a global Center of Excellence that can serve FMC's internal communications strategy at scale, leveraging available resources to ensure strategic global alignment while also effectively serving unique, more localized regional communications needs

Your profile:


  • 15+ years working in Communications, preferably in a global internal and employee engagement communications function, change management and transformation experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally
  • Proven success in developing and implementing global internal communications strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering highquality communications globally across geographies, multiple functions and languages
  • Extensive knowledge of products or tools targeting a diverse range of audiences.
  • High cultural awareness & sensitivity
  • Experienced in developing measurement frameworks for internal communications.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.
  • Experience building and leading a team.
  • Experience working in a complex, global, matrix organized environment, and engaging senior stakeholders
  • Excellent writing skills in English with a proven ability to distill and synthesize difficult amounts of information for diverse audiences
  • Second language is a plus
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with an ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple demands and competing priorities, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Innovative thinker, enjoys developing and testing new ideas and ways of addressing issues or driving engagement.
  • Great ability to work as part of a team within a networked structure, and to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries.
