About our client

Our client is an entrepreneurial investment business with a record of over 25 years driving successful buy & build stories in a number of discrete market niches and has delivered top quartiles returns to its investors.

The firm is launching new platforms on a regular basis and continues to enjoy the strong support of its investor base as operations expand.

For each new platform fund, the firm aims to hire senior private equity professionals to act as Managing Director to build the model, working on strategy, research, outreach to targets, through to engagement, negotiation, diligence and execution; each management team then manages the growth and integration of their business through to exit.

The role offers a high level of autonomy to grow a business organically and through systematic roll-up of acquired targets.

Building towards a medium-term realisation, typically to a mid-cap private equity buyer, the position offers participation in the management sweet equity and the chance for a material capital gain.

The role will be based in central Munich, though target businesses will be spread across the DACH market.

What the job involves

Develop an extended pipeline of targets in the core markets across DACH, working up trust with owners and communicating the strategic upside
Lead on all execution workstreams
Support the integration of the growing group and ultimately deliver an exit

Who we are looking for

You should come from a successful private equity investing background and bring rigorous analytical skills and transaction leadership experience.
Strong deal making skills, including the ability to build trust with founders / owners.
Ideally you also need to think and act like an entrepreneur yourself
The target markets are dominated by private business owners and it is vital to bring a high level of emotional intelligence and humility to these tasks
The firm has a very flat hierarchy and a cando mindset; you need to be prepared to get stuck into nitty gritty details as much as to high level strategy
Native level German / fluent English
