TU Dortmund University is a dynamic research-oriented university with 17 faculties in the natural and engineering sciences as well as social and
cultural sciences. On our international campus, around 6,700 employees make a daily contribution to solving pressing questions of the present
and the future. Openness and diversity characterize not only the cooperation in research and teaching, but also in technology and administration.

This position is to be filled at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
at the Chair of Enterprise Logistics as soon as possible and is initially
fixed for a period of three years. An extension is intended. Remuner
- ation is in accordance with pay group 13 TV-L. This is a full-time po
- sition. Employment on a part-time basis or reduction to part-time is
possible in principle.

What we expect:


completed scientific university degree (Master or equivalent) in

industrial engineering, logistics, mechanical engineering, (busi
- ness) informatics, data science or similar; 

good programming skills (e.g. Python or C#); 
fluent in English, also good knowledge of German or proven

basic knowledge of German, both written and spoken, with a
commitment to improve; 

A high degree of independence, good self-organisation and so
- cial skills.

What you ideally bring with you: 
Research interest in the field of production management and

factory planning and in the use of new technologies (digital twin,
mobile robotics, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology),
in particular enthusiasm for forward-looking topics relating to
the design of a digital twin in enterprise logistics; 

Team orientation, commitment and reliability; 
ideally, but not obligatory, previous experience in Unity or CAD

and initial publication experience.


Your tasks:


Research in the field of virtualisation of factories within the pro
- ject "FlexTools
  • Toolbox for flexible mobile robotics of small and
medium-sized automotive suppliers"; 

focus:
digital twins as a tool for planning, communication and
competence development; financial aspects are also to be taken
into account in the holistic mapping of the planning basis; 

Preparation of internationally visible, high-quality publications,
presentation of your work at international conferences and
workshops; 

Participation in research proposals on innovative ideas and
concepts; 

Academic self-administration 
