Archt-II Solutions Architect


Role description:


NOTE:
This is an opportunity within the Early-in-Career team


The Archt-II Solutions Architect will continuously acquire and grow knowledge in Verizon's technology offerings by completing trainings, attending corporate partner and vendor presentations, acquiring certifications, and assisting with specialized project requests.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Provides presales customer support, guidance and insight for activities focused on standard product based solutions
  • Adhere to a standard model for engagement, consultancy, solution development and execution to help enable a platform for best practice to evolve
  • Work as part of a wider presales team, supporting peers and taking ownership as needed.
  • Responsible for adherence to Verizon solution design governance in terms of both Deal Lifecycle Management and consistent use of standard design tools
  • Working within a standard framework to ensure we have a solid handoff 'pre to postsales' with our Service and Program Management functions
  • Contributor to the creation of customer specific value proposition, linking clients' business objectives & requirements to our proposed end to end solution
  • Build and develop relationships with client stakeholders and participate in ongoing governance programs to ensure best practice/effective communication
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that nontechnical people can understand
  • Take personal pride and invest in your personal brand development, leveraging internal educational and training tools for knowledge / technology certifications as well as seeking external sources for inspiration.
  • Maintain technology/industry best practice certifications as appropriate (Cisco, Microsoft, ITIL, TOGAF etc).

Job Requirements:


You'll need to have:

  • BA / BS or relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in modern office tools such as Google and Microsoft suites.
  • Knowledge or experience with Modern IP Data Networking (routing, switching, load balancing, high availability, etc)
  • Knowledge or experience with with Voice IP Services (SIP, Skype, UCC, Jabber, Spark)
  • Knowledge or experience with Security Technology (firewalls, policies, detection, mitigation)
  • Course work, selfstudy or experience with Software Defined Networking & Virtual Network Services
  • Technical expertise with some major technology companies such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Fortinet, etc.

Even better if you have:

  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to various audiences. We look for communications skills first and then assess your technical and business expertise.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • BA or BS in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience, including college coop and part time work in related fields.
  • Aptitude and desire to work in complex environments, across diverse Verizon teams and with a variety of global enterprises.

Where you'll be working:

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
