In order to support the Conceptual Design in Future Project Office, Airbus Defence and Space is offering an

Internship within Military Aircraft Conceptual Design (d/f/m):

Location: Manching
Start:
Duration: 6 months

The Airbus Defence & Space (ADS) Future Project Office continuously imagines the Future, sparking ideas and evolving them into new solutions and capabilities to shape the future of military aviation.

- generate military aircraft system architectures
- perform trade-off studies for different system architectures
- identify driving parameters in the conceptual design decision process
- evaluate the impact of design decisions on requirements
- verify and validate requirements with respect to system architecture choices.

The aim of this work is to develop a tool for preliminary sizing of military aircraft systems.

This will involve the development of a framework for generating system architectures as well as the sizing of various aircraft systems.

Located about an hour's drive north of Munich, Manching is an up-and-coming market town that offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Literature review
Definition and implementation of an integrated system architecture framework
Sizing of different aircraft systems
Verification and validation of the developed tool
Documentation of the developed tool

Desired skills and qualifications:

Enrolled fulltime student in the area of aerospace, mechanical engineering, engineering physics or an equivalent field of study.
Fluent in English.
Knowledge in MS-Office, Programming skills (e.g. Matlab/Simulink, Python or Similar), Aircraft Systems knowledge (electric, hydraulic, Flight control, etc) and Aircraft Design skills are implied.
Knowledge in Model Based Systems Engineering principles, and tools such as Cameo MagicDraw or similar would be beneficial.
You are eager, selforganised, you love networking and brainstorming as well as developing ideas in a team
You are interested in working on complex aerospace systems, and how things work in synergy is of paramount importance.
