We aim to use our chemical knowledge to utilise enzymes for chemically challenging (or even impossible) reactions through: Biocatalysis, Directed Evolution, Mutagenesis, Protein Screening, Unspecific Peroxygenases (UPOs), Yeast, Machine Learning.

• Perform mutagenesis on the ribosome or tailor enzymes to perform polymer degradation.
• Perform directed evolution and highthroughput assays.
• Inform experimental work through computational analysis.
• Use artificial intelligence directly or in collaboration.
• Collaborate with other research groups.

• A completed Masters degree (or equivalent) in a chemical/biochemical related field.
• Experience in one or more of the following: GC-MS, directed evolution, high throughput analysis, computational analysis, organic chemistry.
• Interest in ribosome/mRNA display or polymer degradation.
• Enthusiasm for interesting science and research with a proactive and innovative approach to research.
• A desire to be part of a dynamic and varied research group.
• New skills for our research group with the motivation to push our research forward.

• The salary is 50% TV-L 1
• Funded by the RTG Beam scheme or the DFG excellence cluster a chance of external development support and lab rotations.
