Global Precision Medicine Strategist M/F/d

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as Precision Medicine leader (PML) for development of one or more programs. Responsible for defining and delivering OPM strategy and for providing strategic, clinical, scientific, technical and budgetary input for assigned projects. Act as an equal member of the Translational Science sub team. Provide relevant Oncology expertise to Translational Science sub team and Clinical Development Teams.
  • Act as thought partner to research leaders for preIND programs. Proactively follow early projects and take an active role in discovering novel biomarkers and performing preclinical validation studies. Draw on resources from across the organization to ensure delivery of a biomarker strategy.
  • Ensure coordination of all aspects of biomarker discovery, development, validation, and clinical implementation in synchronization with the drug R&D process. Leverage cuttingedge methodologies to enable biomarker strategy.
  • Represents biomarker related aspects internally and externally at conferences, with authorities and ethics committees, and with external key opinion leaders. Builds and maintain a network with academic institutions and diagnostic companies in Oncology. Work closely with external clinical leaders to ensure successful uptake of biomarker strategy in the clinic.
  • Lead, via internal and external collaborations, the development of patient selection and surrogate response biomarker endpoint.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of biomarker activities and drive biomarker qualification processes.
  • Independently analyze, interpret, and present results from biomarker analyses and draw conclusions that support and enable decision making.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Medical doctor (MD), PhD, or MD/PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics or similar
  • Proven track record of clinical development, preferably in Oncology, incl. several years of industry experience
  • Understanding of disease pathophysiology and current therapeutics in oncology
  • Companion Diagnostic experience preferred
  • Focus on earlystage drug development, including experience implementing biomarkers in Phase I, regulatory framework for bio sampling, and translational medicine in Oncology
  • Strong scientific reputation as evidenced by multiple publications in peer reviewed journals and as speaker of conferences
  • Strong network in the academic and clinical community of Oncology
  • Strong leadership skills, comfortable to marshal resources from different parts of the organization
