The role supports as part of the global trade compliance team with the following responsibilities and tasks related to Germany, in addition to some international activity.

Prepare import declarations (SAP GTS) and support colleagues doing export declarations
Managing a team of 46 people
Classification of goods (Customs tariff numbers, maintain export control data)
Prepare and maintain preferential origin related data and documents
Maintain licenses and do reporting for special Customs procedures (inward processing relief, end use, etc.)
Accurate management of customsrelevant data in SAP GTS, other Customs software solutions and connected systems (e.g., SAP S/4 HANA).
Optimize customs activities by working with other departments
Overseeing compliance with export control

Requirements:

7+ years of experience in customs, including at least 2 years in leading a team
Commercial qualification on wholesale and foreign trade or equivalent qualification
Experienced in classification (preferrable in food/nutrition sector)
Experienced with preparing customs declarations in SAP/GTS (preferably) and/or other customs software systems is an advantage
Used to work as part of international logistic processes and business transactions
Proficiency in English and German (C1/C2)
Accurate, structured and datadriven personality
Ability to prioritize workload and work under time pressure
Curious and enthusiastic contributing to building a positive team spirit
