About the Role

The Principal Digital Architect will grasp Automotive Division's vision, mission, value chains and continuously develop and drive Digital ecosystems from current state to strategic target state.

They will make decisions on Digital roadmap and technical system choices based on these.

They will identify best practices to improve scalability, simplicity, security, continuity, maintainability, inter-operability and supportability while optimizing total cost of ownership without compromising on business usability and adoption of Digital systems in Automotive.

They will create architectural artifacts including digital maturity charts, data flow diagrams to illustrate recommended approaches as a whole and within subsystems to Digital teams and Business stakeholders.

They will be a coach to the technical team members, will join project teams in advising technical choices in tools, development methods and data flow decisions.

They will create development/POC artifacts on a regular basis to articulate and demonstrate the concepts presented and to accelerate team success.

Additionally, they will be a liaison for Digital Automotive to the Global Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure HARMAN's Automotive Digital ecosystems both in Product Digital and Enterprise Digital are fit-for-purpose, secure, scalable and standardized.

Your Team

This position will report to the VP of Digital Automotive. Will be a member of the Automotive Digital Leadership Team.

This role will have responsibility for 5+ full time employees globally and will have indirect responsibility & provide mentorship to the Digital technical community globally within Digital Automotive.

What You Will Do:

Nature and Area of Impact
Make appropriate technical choices to drive Global Automotive's Digital transformation and process standardization across all four major Automotive value streams
Partner with Customers, Innovation and Engineering, Make and Deliver and Support functions globally across regions, plants and SBUs.
Interpersonal, Collaboration and Presentation Skills
High degree of visibility, collaboration and trust with Automotive Process Experts along with the Digital COCs and Regional BUIs. High level of collaboration and influencing skills in presenting and earning buy in from stakeholders both in Digital and rest of business on Digital ecosystem choices and adjustments needed in division's Digitization journey to achieve target state.
Process Simplification, Problem Solving
Guide problem solving sessions, leveraging lean six sigma approach, people and influencing skills, expert knowledge of Digital ecosystems and pragmatic assessment of existing capabilities. Enable end to end digitalization of processes enterprise wide to enable automation, business productivity, operational efficiency, real time insight and prompt proactive decision making. Connect enterprise processes end to end with special focus on data flow and needed interoperability of tools across the four major Automotive value streams.
Change orientation and management
Out of the box thinking, Influencing and guiding digital transformation, accelerated adoption, and sustainable acceptance to achieve desired state business and Digital transformation in Automotive.
Leadership and Organizational management
Influence and drive technical decision making for 100 + internal team and 50 + external team of Digital specialists and leaders in Digital Supply Chain, Digital Manufacturing, Digital Engineering, Business Analysis, Analytics to drive the overall digitization of division.

Results Driven

Partner with Digital COCs/Regional Digital BUIs to drive transformation from designing strategy to project creation, through flawless execution, ensuring full realization of intended business benefits to realize the full benefit of Digitalization. Ensuring Digital operations meet or exceed SLAs to drive predictability and stability of the digitized processes. Align to divisional pillars of Quality and Stability, Growth, Profitability, Innovation and Culture pillars and lead digital transformations for them. Align and drive through digitization annual targets of Orders, Cash, Cost, Earnings.

Digital systems knowledge

Principal Architect for Digital systems for Automotive will develop deep technical expertise and understanding of digital system interoperability and data flow between systems, becoming a trusted advisor to Digital and business leaders.
