Alu Group is an international Windows and Facades Construction Company based in Hamburg and New York City. It also owns a modern manufacturing facility for aluminum and glassware near Istanbul, Turkey.

The company specializes in the execution of facade and window solutions for global high-rise complexes in premium locations (such as NYC, Manhattan).

We are one of the medium-sized companies in the industry with niche solutions with approx. 150 employees.


ABOUT THE JOB
In collaboration with the production team, the Drafting Team Leader will develop and manage a team of junior draftspeople, meeting goals with an excellent knowledge of AutoDesk Suite products and software systems (AutoCad 2D and 3D is a plus)

An ability to work collaboratively and excellent organizational skills are a must.

You must be both a self-starter and team player able to organize multiple consultants and trades towards common design solutions in a timely fashion.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and supervise a junior technical drafting team in collaboration with the Head of Drafting
  • Supervise, develop and support manufacturing drawings based on the Architectural Drawings, specifications and other data
  • Supervise and guide assembly instructions and layout drawings
  • Oversee and guide material requirements for purchasing using Microsoft Excel
  • Work in conjunction with the Production Department on documentation/engineering and product issues in the factory
  • Have strong teamoriented skills with the ability to also work independently and meet deadlines

SKILLS

  • Excellent CAD skills (Inventor/AutoDesk Suite)
  • Knowledge of Façade is desirable
  • Speaks English (Turkish and German are a plus)

EDUCATION
BSc in Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college


EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years minimum work experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment. Experience
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in leading teams to deliver projects through all stages
  • Ability to create positive relationships with outside design firms and corporate clients and stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholders to reach a consensus
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior employees
  • Experience with international projects an advantage
  • Fluency in English
