Duties:


  • Assist with politicalmilitary planning, analysis, and reporting on assigned portfolio.
  • Assist with advising, coordinating, planning, and executing Security-Cooperation (SC) efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating with offices and individuals to support the Command.
  • Provide advice and recommendations as required to support branch efforts and priorities.
  • Assist others to ensure that Army operations, plans, training events, assessments and exercises are wellinformed of regional limitations and opportunities.
  • Assisting in developing plans and executing operations; or, preparing briefings/information papers for leadership; or, coordinating training events with Allies and partners.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must sign a mobility agreement if selected.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Must comply with Drug Testing Program Requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Recent Graduates will be appointed to a permanent, career or careerconditional appointment in the competitive service.
  • This is a Career Program (CP) 60
  • Foreign Affairs/Strategic Planning position.
  • This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management.
  • The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic reverification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.

  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • Must sign an Army Fellows Participant Agreement if selected

To be eligible for consideration you must meet the definition of recent graduate as defined below:

Recent Graduate:

a person who was (or will complete by May 2023) awarded a degree by an institution of higher education to the eligibliity verbiage.

Exception:

For a person who has completed a period of obligated service in a uniformed service of more than four years, the degree may be awarded by an institution of higher education not more than four years before the date of the appointment of the applicant.

    Basic Requirement for

International Cooperation Specialist (Regional Desk Officer):

A Degree:

Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with a major or equivalent, or a combination of courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in international law and international relations, political science, economics, history, sociology, geography, social or cultural anthropology, law, statistics, or in the humanities; OR 12 semester hours in one of the above disciplines and 12 semester hours in statistics/quantitative methods.

Degree must be completed by May 2023.

Combination of Education and

Experience:

Courses equivalent to a major, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours, in one or more of the social sciences, or in the humanities, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Experience:

Four years of appropriate experience in one or more of the fields, as shown in A above, in work associated with international organizations, problems, or other aspects of foreign affairs.
