A Snapshot of Your Day


You start your day with checking the account balances of all the entities in the world and verifying if there are any postings which require your attention or your approval.

In the meeting just before lunch and together with the Group CFO, you assess the current status of postings on certain accounts, e.g.

Provisions or FX-Accounts.

After lunch, you start interacting with the Heads of Accounting of the various factories and assess, if any support is needed in terms of ensuring correct books & records.

The rest of the afternoon, you might spend with concepts around automating accounting processes (e.g. automated invoice verification), in calls with the financial auditors and your team to discuss new reporting requirements for the upcoming financial statements, or with the shareholder giving updates on the current situation and challenges of the business.


How You'll Make an Impact

  • Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures for the Group as well as planning, organizing, and coordinating the yearend closing process & quarterly/monthly closings
  • Being responsible for the accuracy of the global books and records of the Group as well as being the primary contact for all internal accounting teams and all external accounting service providers
  • Preparing local statutory financial statements and consolidated financial statements, including all legal & regulatory as well as shareholder requirements
  • Implementing a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks and maintaining responsibility for the fiscal integrity of all financial reporting as well as operations
  • Ensuring successful completion of the company's tax filings, supported by external tax consultancy
  • Minimizing legally required taxes by studying regulations, presenting tax strategies to management, and filing returns
  • Acting as primary contact for external auditors as well as hiring, training, and retaining competent accounting staff
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes, working with different functions and external services providers to consistently improve accuracy and efficiency of processing transactions while improving internal controls

What You Bring

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or in a related field, ideally supplemented by additional financerelated qualifications (e.g., MBA, CFA)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of German (HGB) and international (IFRS) accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements as well as understanding of Internal accounting controls
  • Strong proficiency with reporting tools, ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Beneficial: Certification as German Public Accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer-WP) and/or German Tax Consultant (Steuerberater-StB) as well as profound knowledge of EU taxonomyrelated reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of professionals as well as transparent, open working style with a high level of professional integrity
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and German
