In order to support Human Factors Engineering, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Intern within Human Factors Engineering - Human Factors Evaluation of a Control Concept for Teleoperation of a Sensor (d/f/m):

Description:

The team Human Factors Engineering and Flight Deck (GE) is responsible for the development of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for different platforms such as fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, or ground control stations.

The associated process covers requirements engineering, HMI design, specification, and assessments for validation and verification. These evaluations require a wide range of tools and methods for representative results.

The main objective of this internship is to gain detailed information in the field of operating drone sensors from a ground station.

Although in current ground stations implementations are available, a different task allocation might require another design of the input device and its operation in the future.

Therefore, we want to investigate if a new design to control a sensor turret can be handled successfully over time by operators.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Analyze current state of the art with respect to teleoperation of drone sensors.
Develop different concepts for integrating a zoom functionality.
Extend an existing evaluation framework to test the zoom (e.g. zoom functionality, tasks).
Carry out an assessment with a respective set of operators.
Analyze, and interpret gathered data.
Document and discuss research topics.

Desired skills and qualifications:

Have a Bachelor's degree.
Be an enrolled fulltime master's student (M/F/d) within Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Human Factors Engineering or a similar field of study.
Be fluent in English.
Have good programming skills.
Be a good team player, have excellent communication skills and be able to work autonomously.
