The Institute of Global Health at Heidelberg University, Germany's oldest university and a leading hub for health-related research in Europe, is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral research fellow in health economics.

Through research and teaching, the Section for Oral Health aims to contribute to optimizing oral health as an integral part of overall wellbeing.

The postdoc is expected to strengthen our economic expertise and be engaged in research projects with academic partners and public health organisations such as the World Health Organization.

Our areas of interest include (but are not limited to):


  • Measurement and valuation of oral health outcomes
  • Economic evaluation of oral health interventions
  • Causal effects of provider and consumer incentives
  • Needsbased planning for the oral health workforce
  • Evidenceinformed oral health policymaking

Your Tasks:

***- Lead and carry out health economic research

  • Publish in highimpact peerreview journals
  • Contribute to the development of new research projects
  • Contribute to the acquisition of thirdparty funding
  • Contribute to teaching activities, e.g. supervision of doctoral and master students

Your Profil:

***- You have a doctoral degree in health economics or a related field

  • You have strong quantitative expertise and strong coding skills in R, Stata, Python, or other statistical software packages. Training and experience in quasiexperimental methods is a plus
  • You have a good trackrecord in scientific research as evidenced by publications in international academic journals
  • You have good communication skills in English; good communication skills in German are a plus
  • You have good social, communication and organisational skills. You are a team player
