The Position:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Scientist in Pharmaceutical Protein & Colloidal Science to join our Pharmaceutical Development Biologicals department located in Biberach, Germany.

As project lead and principal investigator, you will drive projects related to the analytics and stabilization of protein formulations. You will innovate related new drug delivery dosage and delivery forms for biologics for the benefit of patients.

This position is limited for 2 years.
This position is part time eligible with 70%.

Tasks & responsibilities:

As a scientific expert, you will support pharmaceutical formulation development of therapeutic proteins.
You will examine the function and stability of excipients that are used to stabilize therapeutic proteins and you will enlarge our knowledge related to the stabilization mechanism to guide our development.
Furthermore, you will elaborate the colloidal stability and properties of highly concentrated protein dosage forms.
Additionally, you will identify and evaluate advanced analytical, biophysical, and computational tools to build up rational development approaches.
As project leader and principal investigator, you will drive the implementation of your results as well as identify new technologies in the respective areas.
The publication of the results in peerreviewed journals and the presentation of your work at scientific conferences rounds out your profile.

Requirements:

Doctoral degree in chemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or similar disciplines
Proven expertise in protein and colloidal sciences, strong skills in analytics (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy, thermal and/or scattering techniques) and computational tools
Knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences and technology for the development of dosage forms
Proven experience in conducting and publishing creative and innovative research projects
Proactive mindset for identifying new improvement opportunities and anticipating future challenges
Organizational and analytical skills
Team player with good communication skills and willingness to work in crossfunctional teams
Fluent in English and German
