We are looking for a Controller to develop accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures of our company. As a Controller, you'll monitor the company's financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage accounting transactions.

To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and experience with risk management.

Ultimately, you'll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits and mitigate risks.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide oversight of all accounting functions, ensure accuracy and full compliance with appropriate GAAP and IFRS standards and regulatory requirements; manage annual financial and inventory audits; Create and maintain documentation of the financial policies and procedures.
  • Oversees monthend/yearend closing, all general ledger reconciliations and journal entries, AR/AP and ineligible reporting.
  • Responsible for all bank/reconciliations, bank reporting, cost analysis, reporting of all financial statements.
  • Responsible for budgeting, quarterly/annual projections, and annual comparisons of financials from previous year, internal/external audits. Provide financial analyses required to support strategic decisionmaking, provide recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Manage all costs and spending within company, cash flow and develop strategies to improve the organization's cash position, operation efficiency.
  • Work with directors on developing or enhancing procurement/sales policies and processes, develop/evaluate key financial metrics.
  • Responsible for reporting Borrowing Base Reports along with all financials to bank or other financial facility (including intercompany), resolving all bank questions and inquiries.
  • Work with insurance agents on setting company's insurance rates and renewals, employee contribution; conduct annual insurance audits.
  • Supervise all bookkeeping activities including accounts receivable and accounts payable; check runs, handle legal issues with attorney, credit references, all other functions and special projects that supports the need of the company.
  • Oversee all payroll activities, including processing, reporting, documenting, updating procedures, coordinate with external HR companies for other HR objective.

Requirements:


  • Prior experience in accounting for small manufacturing and/or distribution companies.
  • A strong working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") systems
  • Very strong business acumen and should assist management in developing metrics used to measure the performance of the business;
  • Strong interpersonal skills. The Controller should be able to work collegially and effectively with other members of the management team and should be able to supervise employees effectively.
  • The ability to manage and perform a wide variety of business and administrative functions that may not be related to accounting;
  • Outstanding analytic skills should exhibit strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to protect confidentiality and an understanding of the ethical standards of the position.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Master degree preferred.
  • English is required.
