Beschreibung & AnforderungenBerenberg's Group Compliance unit works closely with the bank's business lines (Investment Bank, Corporate Banking and Wealth & Asset Management) to prevent, detect and mitigate compliance and regulatory risk across the firm.

As an independent control function, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance and regulatory risk, monitors for compliance with laws, rules and regulations, designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training and leads the bank's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries.

Team members of Group Compliance are located in the bank's Hamburg, London and Frankfurt offices.

This role, based in Frankfurt, will primarily support Compliance coverage of the bank's growing Wealth and Asset Management business but will also be exposed to Investment Bank Compliance matters.

Compliance Officer - Wealth and Asset Management Frankfurt

Your responsibilities:


  • Provide advice and regulatory guidance to the Wealth and Asset Management business and other business lines of Berenberg across all offices of the bank
  • Conduct Compliance monitoring and review activities including ad hoc investigations, as required as part of the firm's compliance monitoring program
  • Develop and maintain a proactive relationship with the Wealth and Asset Management business
  • Assist in the implementation and updating of policies and procedures
  • Organise and conduct individual and team training sessions on regulatory requirements and ethical standards
  • Work closely with Compliance team members in the Hamburg, Frankfurt and London office locations
  • Represent the Compliance function in bankwide projects

Your profile:


  • Relevant professional experience in a Compliance role at a bank, investment management firm, audit firm, consultant or comparable position at a regulatory body
  • Sound knowledge of German and European regulation, e.g. MiFID, MAR, UCITS, WpHG, MaComp
  • Interest in process improvement to drive business performance
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in German and English
  • Ability to work well in a crossborder team using own initiative
  • Commitment to an inoffice working culture with regular facetoface stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Handson attitude, with a flexible approach
