    To strengthen our team, we are looking for a

    Head of R&D (m/f/d)

    full-time and permanent for our European headquarters in Düsseldorf as soon as possible (home office possible).

    Your tasks

    Establish & Drive EU Innovation Objectives to deliver against James Hardie EU business plan

    • Aligning with EU Cross-functional and Global Innovation stakeholders to identify opportunities of innovation and growth
    • Establishing Innovation priorities, teams and frameworks to measure both progress to goal and outcomes achieved
    • Representing EU business interests as part of the Global Innovation Leadership Team

    Leadership of the full Fiber Cement and Fiber Gypsum technical portfolio to deliver against both short-term and long-term growth targets

    • Aligning with the EU Operations and Commercial leaders to establish R&D priorities in support of day-to-day business operations in Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply chain.
    • Maintaining long-term Product Roadmaps in key segments, and the Technology Roadmaps required to deliver against them

    Develop and grow the EU R&D organization and capabilities by

    • Driving compelling vision of the role of Innovation in the James Hardie Europe business, and the role of the R&D organization in it
    • Expanding on the EU R&D's long-term innovation capabilities through both strategic investment in internal capability and establishment of strategic external partnership

    You are...

    • smart? You have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Material Sciences) or similar fields with profound professional experience in technology development and product commercialization, preferably in the EU building products industry (incl. multiple years in leadership roles).
    • driven? Standing still is a foreign word for you. You've got a highly motivated mindset and you have the ability to link Technology and Product roadmaps in line with commercial strategy. You have demonstrated experience in driving organizational change in response to changing business needs and are able to set the right priorities quickly – and also adjust them.
    • real? You have strong interpersonal communication skills (German and English is a must, 3rd European language is a plus). You enjoy leading cross-functional teams and are willing to travel within and outside Europe as required. Commitment to the corporate culture, vision, mission and values is natural for you.
