KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with Lead Commissioning Managers and Operational Site Managers to identify, plan and forecast for the resource's requirements for each Project and Operational Site HV Safety Team.
  • Proactively work with the O&M function during construction phase to recruit, train and authorise O&M staff ensuring smooth postconstruction handover to O&M.
  • Harmonise electrical working practices, to achieve a bestinclass approach to provision of Electrical safety at our sites.
  • To support governance of the IBRO Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules across all offshore wind projects
  • Participate in each project's specific Project Safety Rule Committee and act as a conduit for any requirements coming to/from the IBRO Safety Rules Committee
  • Contribute to the creation/enhancement of the process for electrical competency, training and experience and provide strategic analysis.
  • Ensure that technical electrical and mechanical authorisation and assessment procedures are carried out correctly.
  • Ensure that Iberdrola Safety Rules are implemented correctly at our German sites.
  • To carry out audits and inspections relating to electrical safety.
  • Develop a training matrix and competency assessment process for the offshore business to ensure persons are selected according to appropriate training, competency, capability, education and experience.
In relation to the VEFK aspect the role holder will be required to

  • Assess and Approval of individuals responsible for providing 'Safety from The System' in line with ArbSchG DGUV Vorschrift 1, DGUV Vorschrift 3, DIN VDE standards
  • Ensure adherance to the requirements of DIN VDE to ensure that Safety from the System is achieved
  • Ensure that Employees, Services Providers/Contractors/Consultants are adequately qualified and/or experienced for the work being undertaken
  • Monitor the performance of Service Providers/Contractors for Electrical maintenance equipment and follow up if required
  • Ensure the site has established electrical management procedures and ensure they are enforced to safeguard personnel.
  • Ensure that the operation and maintenance of the system is compliant with VDE Operation of electrical systems
  • Ensure new/modified electrical apparatus are fit for purpose as it is energised or reenergised.
  • Introduce validated processes into work streams and assess safety from the system team members' educational qualifications and practical experience to ensure appointments (Elektrofachkraft
  • EFK etc.) under German legislation are compliant
  • Provide input to Investigations into electrical safety incidents or near misses
