EUROCLIMA (EC) is a flagship cooperation program of the EU with the objective to reduce the impact of climate change and its effects in Latin America and the Caribbean by fostering climate mitigation, adaptation, resilience, and investment.

EUROCLIMA is financed by the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (INTPA) of the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

In the energy component, energy transition processes are to be supported and accompanied with special attention to the promotion of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources.

The intern will be assigned to the GIZ EUROCLIMA+ Energy team in Eschborn, working together with a team of technical advisors in Latin America and integrated in a global team of energy experts.

We offer interesting insights into different areas of energy and climate change, green hydrogen, financing and different energy policies on regional, national and local level.

Ihre Aufgaben:

Support the coordination of the GIZ team and with partner institutions in Europe and Latin America
Support the preparation, planning and implementation of project activities at national and regional level
Assist with research and technical evaluations mainly in the fields of climate change, energy efficiency, green hydrogen, energy transition and gender
Participate and provide support in the organisation of (virtual) events and meetings with counterparts, EU Commission, implementing partners, programme secretariat and the project team
Prepare and provide input to short technical articles, guidance documents and presentations for the external and internal communication of the projects as well as support with website, social media and intranet presence
Support the editing of publications and the elaboration of outreach material
Support the project impact monitoring and it's the reporting
Support with the knowledge management activities
General office management support

Ihr Profil:

You have at least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in energy or environmental sciences, economics, political/social sciences or another relevant area
You have a very good knowledge of Spanish and English, both written and spoken; German language skills are an asset
Initial understanding of the challenges for the energy sector in emerging and developing countries with and/or knowledge of international climate policy and approaches to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the energy sector
Initial experience in the Latin American context and in development cooperation as an asset
You are very familiar handling MS Office package and social media tools; editing and design tools as well as knowledge of communication material are a plus
You have very good organisational skills
You are a team player with strong communication and networking skills and intercultural sensitivity

Die monatliche Praktikantenvergütung beträgt €2.064;
