Position Description

The role of the Operations Site Head is to manage the performance of the site in line with objectives for product supply to markets and customers at budgeted costs and in high quality at required product specifications, and to further develop the manufacturing site to maintain competitiveness in the future.


  • Performance management based on comprehensive department goals and KPIs ensuring execution of all key priorities and reports results as required
  • Developing an effective, forwardlooking and visionary Operations unit
  • Responsible for developing longterm site operational strategy in alignment with company's strategy and working with the team to develop operational budget
  • Initiating and driving Continuous improvement in and beyond his/her area of responsibility
  • Management of an organizational unit with multiple functions including budget responsibility, qualification of employees/managers, resource planning
  • Responsibility for manufacturing, assembly, logistics, quality control, local engineering and local EHS onsite
  • Ensuring compliance with all quality, regulatory, financial and safety regulations
  • Assess and develop talent at all levels
  • Leading the site Operations leadership team, Member of the EMEA Operations LT

Position Requirements- Academic qualification (e.g. Master of Science) in Engineering, Industrial management, Natural sciences or related field) required.

  • Experience in ISO 13485 production environment, Extensive know how in GMP regulations
  • LEAN Management and six sigma experience desired
  • English and German language skills

Personal Requirements

  • Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of building a performance culture in a Biotech/ GMP organization, and an ability to optimize team performance and development
  • Strong business acumen and excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders, crossfunctional leaders and partners
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against efficiency targets
  • Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets
  • Change agent who is resilient, selfmotivated, able to work well under pressure and inspire others to achieve goals
  • High level of initiative and enthusiasm
  • You are able to successfully manage and motivate people at all levels in your organization
  • You are well established in external and internal networks and proactively share knowledge in a systematic way to grow knowhow base and support a learning organization
