PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) is responsible for developing and operating SAP's Compliance Management Systems, including support for the SAP Code of Business Conduct and related compliance practices, policies and procedures.

We focus on FCPA, UK Bribery Act, and other applicable anti-corruption laws, competition and export controls regulations. The activities of the OEC include preventive, detective and investigative measures.


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Areas of responsibilities will comprise a local and corporate focus for German specific topics as well as necessary cross-functional and cross-national support if needed.


  • Develop and maintain compliant culture in the dedicated region (mainly on SAP SE/ Corporate level) : develop and independently provide trainings on Compliance topics for large,
  • Provide compliance oversight on sales activities: work with business to vet and validate sale, marketing, thirdparty transactions and presales opportunities, serve as trusted advisor and gatekeeper
  • Manage and support SAP's internal Compliance processes such as Conflict of Interest checks or Donation, Sponsorships and Memberships approval processes
  • Manage and coordinate with German Labor Relations, HR and Legal local regulatory processes as well as works constitutional matters (focus Germany) that have impact on Compliance instruments and processes, such as Policy and Training creation, approval and implementation
  • Manage compliance investigations: oversee investigations by Corporate Audit and, where necessary, coordinate the OEC investigation team
  • Drive and enforce

Consequence Management:
formulate consequence options with the guidance of OEC leadership, build consensus with relevant HR, Legal, and Business executives, and execute

  • Serve as Corporate Liaison to EMEA/ MEE OEC leadership: receive and respond to the subregion relevant Compliance inquiries and complaints, monitor response mechanism, liaise with relevant Local and Regional stakeholders;
  • Serve as senior, trusted advisor and functional peer to

Local Senior Leadership:
run the Compliance Committees; provide true value to senior leadership in Business, Legal, HR, and stakeholders in the region and

  • Stay substantively up to date on relevant laws and regulations in Germany, US, and UK.
He/she will work on company policies and procedural change and liaise with multiple areas to align compliance Policies. The position reports to the Regional Compliance Officer EMEA/MEE, and enjoys excellent exposure within the business.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Graduation from accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Germany
  • Proven Expertise in works constitutional matters
  • Fluent business English and German, preferably an additional Western European language
  • Handson with extreme attention to detail and written documentation
  • Ability to do indepth research and to interpret written guidelines and documents
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior leadership in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated presentation skills

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience, especially legal experience in compliance or commercial law in an international environment, international law firm experience highly desired,
  • Legal experience in the areas of detection and prevention of fraud or corruption preferred
  • Experience in develop and facilitate trainings
