The team, position & mission
Our finance team is a dynamic group based in Berlin dedicated to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in this team, ensuring accuracy and compliance in our financial records.
Your mission will be to manage and reconcile the general ledger accounts, providing crucial insights into our financial performance and assisting in decision-making processes.
Your key areas of responsibility
- You are responsible for the reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts
- You prepare journal entries and ensure their accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- You assist in the monthend and yearend closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- You analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- You collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and ensure proper documentation of transactions
- You contribute to process improvements and initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations
- Completed training in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards in German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS
- Proficiency in Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Very good German and good written and verbal English skills
It's not a requirement but it would be a plus if you also have experience with
- Professional certification such as CPA or CMA
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements
