We are now looking for a Quality, Health & Safety and Environment (QEHS) Expert (M/F/x) for our office and research facilities in Oberursel and Frankfurt, Germany.

The job holder will join the QEHS team, which is part of the local organization.

You will be responsible to manage Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental tasks for the locations in Oberursel and Frankfurt.

You shall review the HSE basis for proposals, subcontracting and project execution in the respective technology areas. This includes supervision, construction, and commissioning activities at our construction sites. You shall interact with international QHSE stakeholders within the Market Area and on Business Area Metals level.

As QEHS Expert, you will:

Be part of the function's development and implementation of policies, procedures, and compliance activities to ensure that all organizational objectives are met.

Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at senior management level to develop and implement quality and HSE strategies that are aligned with the business objectives and translate these into annual plans.

Challenge staff to continuously improve key skills; keep them challenged, while emphasizing a learning orientation and managing performance effectively.
Manage and develop Health and Safety management and related proactive culture in high complexity and strong business impacted areas
Bear individual responsibility of results and leading the course of our safety standards.
Supervise implementation of safety rules and regulations according to company policies and local regulations.
Conduct safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards and unsafe equipment, working practices, or working conditions.

Investigate accidents, complete, or verify accident reports, and liaise with technical specialists and external health and safety authorities to identify the causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.

Coordinate the education and training of the organization's workforce on safety to ensure that they understand and comply with the organization's safety policies and standards.

Monitor and support in documenting the international travel requirements and risks, especially for our construction sites in high risk countries
Lead HSE reporting for Metso Outotec locations in Oberursel and Frankfurt
Be a member of BA Metals QEHS network and participate in Corporate activities on request
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with operational responsibility for the compliance with HSE requirements.

To succeed, you will need:

To be a German Safety Specialist (SiFa) and an internal auditor certificate holder
Additional certificates are an asset (e.g. fire prevention officer, paramedic, hazardous materials safety officer, dangerous goods safety advisor, NEBOSH certificate holder, certification as on ISO45001 and/or ISO 14001 auditor)
Excellent education on University Degree level in safety and/or technical science
Minimum 5 years' experience in HSE and execution of internal audits on international sites
General knowledge in HSE management according to German and International Codes, Standards and requirements (DIN EN ISO, OHSA, SiGeKo, TRGS, etc.)
Very good understanding of risk assessments and controls
To be a self-directed, proactive team player with very good communication skills and with experience in working in an International Matrix organization
Solid industry understanding
To have planning and organizing, and performance management skills and not to be afraid to make decisions
Very good conceptual and analytical skills to develop practical solutions for implementation of HSE concepts
willingness for international travel
Very good in oral and written English, additional languages would be an asset
