Job Description Summary:

The Head of Strategy is responsible for defining, planning and operationalizing the vision and strategy for the GE Healthcare EMEA region.

This involves identifying, evaluating and prioritizing growth opportunities across the region, including geographic expansion, go to market strategy enhancement, new solution introduction, and business model innovation.

As well as building the long term strategy, the Head of Strategy will lead the activation of the strategy through the establishment of growth programs and initiatives that will be driven in partnership with the Segment, Partnerships & Solutions and Zone teams.

The Head of Strategy will also lead the long term strategy (LTS) process for the business, linking closely with the global segment teams to drive alignment around market trends & share performance, competitive insights and opportunities for investment.

The Head of Strategy is a pivotal role within the EMEA leadership team, requiring a mature and senior profile with strong leadership and influencing skills, clear thinking and an ability to solve multi-dimensional problems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify mid/long term (35 years) market, clinical, customer and competitive trends, within the EMEA region that will influence the commercial strategy for GE HealthCare and provide guidance & prioritization on how to prepare for / preempt trends
  • Define long term growth strategy to enable accelerated business growth, based on geographical expansion, go to market strategy enhancement, business model innovation and new solution development and introduction
  • Establish and drive growth programs across the region to activate and operationalize the strategy, in partnership with Segment, Zone and Solutions teams.
  • Support the development of the commercial strategy for EMEA region, including the GTM strategies and broader value propositions for customer segments (e.g. academia); define segmentation factors for Market and Customer Analytics team
  • Provide guidance and information to support forecasts on the healthcare landscape including policy and the reimbursement environment developments
  • Advise on the commercial prioritization of product and service portfolio within EMEA and collaborate with Segments on identifying portfolio priorities for EMEA
  • Maintain deep understanding of breadth of offerings / services within EMEA that can be used to support different customer segments
  • Build and maintain guidance for each large customer segment that include proposed GTM strategy, value prop, personas, deployment guidance and target accounts; team to reassess proposed guidance on a yearly basis and ensure they are in alignment with marketing efforts
  • Identify outofthebox, innovative solutions and services that could help drive competitive advantage in the EMEA market (e.g., developing business case for pursuing new business models)
  • Identify codevelopment opportunities for strategic alliances / M&A opportunities
  • Work with leadership to prioritize innovative solutions to be piloted and pursued by EMEA
  • Own framework for KOL and thought leadership objectives and programs
  • Lead the strategic insights and forecasting team

Required Qualifications:


  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college or bachelor's degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in med tech orientated strategic consultancy preferred; experience in leading large scale strategic projects and initiatives
