Beschreibung
The research group "Technical Chemistry 1" (Prof. Dr. M. Wark - Photocatalysis and Sustainable Use of Raw Materials) of the Institute of Chemistry of the University in Oldenburg is looking for the following position for 3 years

1 research associate or PhD student (65 % TV-L E 13) (M/F/d)
The research group "Technical Chemistry 1" is focused on research in the field of "Photocatalysis/Renewable Energies".

Within the framework of the advertised PhD position, photocatalytic elementary processes on the nanoscale will be investigated using vanadate and tungstate model systems as examples within the research network "Dynamics on the Nanoscale:
from Coherent Elementary Processes to Functionality (DyNano)" funded by the state of Lower Saxony.

The Oldenburg research network DyNano is mainly centered in the Institute of Physics; the concrete project is carried out in close cooperation with Prof.

Dr. N. Nilius, whose research group has a focus on tunneling microscopy.

Tasks include, (i) the synthesis of polycrystalline and thin film systems from metal vanadates and tungstates with embedded plasmonic nanoparticles via electrochemical deposition, microwave assisted solvothermal techniques, sol-gel techniques, or vapor phase deposition, (ii) the structural characterization of the synthesized materials, (iii) the setup and analysis of photocatalytic model processes, e.g.

via the use of electron

A scientific university degree (Diploma or Master of Science) in chemistry or physics with an overall grade of "very good" is required.

Practical experience in (i) photocatalysis, (ii) preparation and characterization of solid thin films (including XRD, solid state UV-Vis, XPS) is essential.

Photophysical knowledge must also be demonstrated. Initial publication experience is desirable.

In addition to the research tasks mentioned above, support of the research group in teaching (supervision of experiments in practical courses of "Technical Chemistry", carrying out of exercises) is part of the activities.

Corresponding teaching experience is advantageous.

In our international working group very good German and English skills are necessary.

We are looking for a personality who is used to acting independently and on his/her own responsibility, who enjoys working in a team and who is willing to continuously develop his/her skills and knowledge.

The University of Oldenburg strives to increase the proportion of women in the academic field. Therefore, women are strongly encouraged to apply. According to - 21 para. 3 NHG, female applicants shall be given preferential consideration in case of equal qualification.

Severely disabled persons will be given preference in the case of equal suitability.
