Our Physical Security team is looking for a forward-thinking, results-oriented, innovative Security Systems Design Engineer with expert experience in complex physical security system design, including campus and building protection, fence and hostile vehicle mitigation, access control, CCTV, intruder detection.


You will be expected to work closely with all internal and external stakeholders as the physical security lead for all physical system design for existing and future projects.

Primary focus will be on creating and delivering physical system designs, compliant with Vantage standards specifications, while incorporating approved client requirements, compliant to local code and regulations.


The position will directly engage with Engineering, Construction and Installation vendors as well as the Vantage Security System Engineers throughout the design process, effectively communicating approved designs including all change requests.


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide chartered technical security system design for every Data Center based on Vantage design and specification documents to ensure a standardized approach
  • Enforce Vantage Physical Security Global Procedures that encompasses all aspects of Datacenter Physical Security, including design, construction, testing, daily operation, and maintenance.
  • Responsible for all security system design architecture and technology including perimeter fence lines including crashrated capability; vehicle & pedestrian gates; building infrastructure including doors, windows, mesh cages etc; access control and CCTV systems; intruder detection systems and global network interface

Duties

  • Effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders internal and external, defining the system 'vision', principles, and strategy
  • Understand impact of design decisions, balancing Vantage security policy, local / national legislation, customer requirements, cost, and quality
  • Lead the security technical design of systems and services.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; 8 years progressively responsible experience, in leading large, global security programs may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in and knowledge of CCTV, Electronic & Physical Security Systems design and project management is essential
  • Possess a deep and evolving level of technical expertise of security systems to provide effective decision making
  • Competent in AutoCAD and Visio design software and should be willing to learn new software, technologies and products
  • Experience in Data Center security system design preferred
  • Must have a multidisciplinary security background with knowledge in several areas including developing and implementing layered security architecture; risk and vulnerability assessments, compliance to implement physical security related standards and initiatives
  • Ownership and program management of technology security solutions
  • Must have strong organization awareness and result oriented mindset to deliver prompt, efficient, quality service to all stakeholders and business partners
  • Working knowledge of global federated system design concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Travel is expected to be 25% (domestic and international), but may increase over time as the business evolves
  • Essential English language fluent, German nice to have
