Position & Primary Responsibilities
MIO's Investment Advisory team is seeking an Investment Advisor to join our global group based in Munich, DE. This is a client facing, advisory-focused opportunity, not a sales role. The incentive to excel is qualitative and values based.


_Investment Advisory_
Support the Investment Advisory team in all investment counseling activities

  • Provide investment advice to McKinsey Partners
  • Prepare asset allocation balance sheets
  • Respond to client inquiries related to asset allocation and market dynamics
  • Research various investment topics and products and assess suitability
  • Prepare investment materials for pension plans and client communication (memos, performance reports, website, newsletters, etc.)
  • Document and file investment counseling meetings and activities

_Investment Implementation_
Support the team in the implementation of portfolio recommendations for investors

  • Facilitate transactions in MIO products
  • Coordinate the implementation of MIO investment proposals with external providers as appropriate

_Third-Party Service Providers (e.g., tax advisors, banks, asset managers, etc.)_
Liaise with external service providers to assist with investor follow up and implementation of investment recommendations

  • Serve as a team resource by developing thorough knowledge of relevant processes

Desired Background

  • Undergraduate or master's degree from a leading university, preferably in a quantitative, finance, or economics discipline
  • At least 35 years of relevant experience working for an investment consulting or wealth management firm
  • Demonstrable knowledge of investments, asset allocation, and interest in portfolio construction; expertise in areas such as financial planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, and/or tax an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think/operate internationally, work in a fastpaced environment and think clearly under pressure, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and be proactive with clients
  • Integrity and maturity in dealing with confidential financial matters. These attributes are paramount, as direct client interaction is a fundamental aspect of the role
  • CFA, CAIA or CFP designation is a plus; interest in obtaining these qualifications is envisioned to grow in this role
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience performing indepth financial modeling is desirable
