We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Computational Engineering in Methods of Car Architecture Development.

What awaits you?

  • As part of your job, you will support our project team in the development of new methods and software tools for the field of architecture development and geometric car design.
  • With these methods we intend to design car architectures and vehicle concepts for the entire product portfolio of BMW in the future.
  • For this purpose, we develop strategies to permanently ensure the technical plausibility of our concepts in a multidisciplinary field of requirements.
  • These requirements encompass business aspects of customereffective characteristics and legal provisions.
  • Starting with the first considerations of a car concept, these methods are meant to guide the vehicle development into a successfull start of production.
  • The implementation requires the development of an intelligent parametric model.
  • Beside the CAx design, results from data analyses and functional requirements must be considered.

What should you bring along?

  • Degree in computational engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Programming skills in Python.
  • CAD Design experience.
  • Knowledge of CAx systems and their data structure.
  • Enthusiasm for technical topics, methods and scientific working.
  • German and good English skills.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
