Windows System Administrator (f/m/x):

The DZNE operates a central IT located in Bonn, which provides the IT infrastructure and services for the entire research center distributed across ten locations, supporting the work of scientists and administration.


As
Windows System Administrator, you will work in the IT department focusing on configuring, managing and optimizing our central Windows Systems, including Servers and Client OS, Microsoft 365 Services such as One Drive, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Azure Active Directory, and On Premise Exchange Servers.

You will also collaborate with our internal IT support team, troubleshooting and solving second/third level issues related to Windows client and server systems and software.

Moreover, you will participate in exciting medium/long term project teams involving the IT department and external providers, to develop new solutions for the needs of the DZNE.


Your tasks:


  • Independent conception and administration of DZNE's central IT Systems based on Windows, Exchange and Microsoft 36
  • Maintenance, integration and documentation of the Windows systems Support in the administration of the central software distribution such as SCCM or Baramundi
  • Proactive security management, including analysis of security patches (e.g. service packs, operating system upgrades)
  • Monitoring of the systems and performance, evaluation of risk potential, problem and incident management
  • Plan, execute or initiate troubleshooting, develop immediate solutions for impact mitigation
  • Manage the deployment and user administration of M365 apps
  • Monitoring and supervision of the M365 apps
  • Technical administration, updates, improvement and maintenance of the Active Directory;
  • Conception, planning and implementation of the Azure Active Directory;
  • Participation in IT projects
  • Support (2ndLevel)

Your profile:


  • Degree in engineering or relevant studies in an ITrelated field alternatively, training in the IT field (e.g. IT specialist for system integration)
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications in Windows server, Exchange Server, M365 and Azure
  • Experience with Windows systems administration managing server roles such as RDS, DHCP, DNS, and AD DS.
  • Several years of experience in the administration of Windows systems (M365, Exchange, Active Directory, Power-Shell etc.)
  • MS SQL server administration knowledge
  • Nice to have: Understanding of FAST LTA Silent Brick systems and Understanding of CIFS Share
  • Windows Backup and Disaster recovery knowledge
  • Good knowledge in the area of virtualization technologies (e.g. V-Sphere)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills, team and customer orientation
  • Good command of the German or English language and the willingness to expand the knowledge of the other language
