  • With 45,000+ Superchargers, Tesla owns and operates the largest global, fast charging network in the world. Located on major routes near convenient amenities, Superchargers keep our customers charged when they are away from home. The Supercharger Deployment team ensures that Tesla continuously expands its network, by innovation, quality and standardization.
  • The Mechanical Engineering Internship role supports the EMEA Supercharger deployment team in Munich (or Amsterdam). This dynamic role will support the Supercharger deployment team with the design and development of new products that can be deployed at Supercharger sites. You will also be reviewing existing products, and invited to suggest improvements considering cost, quality and standardization.
What You'll Do

  • Participate in all aspects of the design, analysis, prototyping, validation and functional testing of new components for Tesla charging stations (foundations, mobile charging stations, etc.)
  • Propose, investigate, and evaluate potential design change opportunities
  • On site visits of manufacture companies, warehouse and construction sites
  • Quality control during manufacturing process, storage and installation
  • Prepare documentation related to new and existing designs
  • Maintain and develop the knowledge base for internal and external usage
  • Contribute to a variety of projects depending on team requirements, challenging you to come up with creative solutions to affect rigorous quality and costdown targets
What You'll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quality Engineering or similar
  • Proficiency designing in a 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, DraftSight, Catia or similar)
  • Good eye for detail and very precise
  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built and how they operate
  • Proven interest in mechanical design engineering through extracurricular activities, academic projects, passion projects, or equivalent experiences
  • Proficiency in English. (German, Dutch or other EU languages is a plus)
