In the 1950s, global trade changed for good. The invention of the standardized container suddenly meant that transporting goods across the world became affordable. And with that, paved the way for globalization and global wealth.

But contrary to the container, most surrounding processes have not been standardized nor innovated—and are still frustratingly complex, manual, and error-prone.

That's why our ambition is to use technology to simplify the logistics of global trade, making the processes around the container as simple as the container itself.

We do that by providing a neutral infrastructure that connects all logistics companies to remove friction and create economic opportunity.

Financial Accountant (f/m/d)

\_\_As our Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in the insourcing of accounting at xChange. You will help resolve various accounting challenges as part of our insourcing and ERP system implementation. Furthermore, you are going to support month-end processes, tax and financial reporting, and our upcoming audits. A specific area of responsibility for the role will be treasury-related tasks, such as bank reconciliation. You will need to be able to exercise independent judgment and drive to resolve challenges based on your experience and involve other key stakeholders within xChange. Hence, you will be working directly with the CFO and other Finance managers at xChange.

Requirements:

Your responsibilities in a nutshell

Support the accounting and finance team on any complex accounting issues. Manage and support queries around accounting standards and tax topics.
Calculate monthly provisions and post adjusting journal entries as relates to revenue, customer balances, and money held on the customer's behalf
Ensure that bank reconciliations with regard to customer and vendor payments are performed daily, working closely with Accounts Receivables, Finance Operations, and Accounts Payable colleagues.
Assist with the monthly closing process and help with the monthend reporting
Assist with the yearend audit process and act as one of the key contact people for auditors

What we're looking for

A good understanding of best accounting practices and principles
Ideally some practical experience in accounting and bookkeeping
Ability to be accountable and make clear decisions
Preferably experience using an ERP system
Selfstarter attitude with a high personal drive you are excited about being a part of rapid growth and not afraid to get your hands dirty
Fluency in English (Knowledge of German is a plus)
