Accountabilities and Missions

Fast Track Leaders serve as principal advisor to the Chief Technical Officer and to the 1 Organization of Engineering and Technology on technical ambition and roadmaps for associated technology domain areas.

Their responsibilities are to:

Deliver and drive implementation of a "diagonal" roadmap for domains that are potentially transformational for the company and need to be accelerated.

This roadmap consists in a vision and relevant techno bricks **scheduled according to targeted business milestones.

This roadmap will impact both strategy and R&T ** It can encompass:

CRT initiatives,
R&T projects,

- demonstrators,

DDMS activities,

- on-going products, solutions and services under development

The scope is cross divisional
and Fast Tracks have to foster transverse synergies **.

Drive relevant group wide communities **for each Fast Track domain.

To explore new ways of working
in order to achieve alignment across organizations on key strategic and technology topics.**-
The Fast Track Team has to leverage each other's domain to bring new innovative ideas and initiatives **. Diagonal roadmaps must encompass such cross domain elements.

Collectively, the Fast Track Team delivers the Corporate Technology Vision for transformational domains**: where we could go and why.

Fast Track Leader focuses on launch and implementation of transformational projects **. Hence, His/her roadmaps are not a list of all R&T initiatives.

Together with Airbus Communication **develop and implement an internal and external communication plan aligned to branding, partnering and recruitment needs for their domains.

Description of the Materials Domain

The vision of material technology's ambition is to enable and innovate next generation of aircraft

by high-performance, cost-competitive, Industrial efficient & sustainable material.

This domain is explicitly targeting increase of performance, reduction of cost, enable high production rate and decrease the environmental footprint.

Typical products are the next generation of commercial aircraft, helicopters, military aircraft and spacecraft as well as Urban Air Mobility vehicles.

Typical technologies are related to material & related processes linked to metal & ceramics, composite & polymers, surface & bonding and additive manufacturing.

In order to fulfill their mission Fast Track leaders are interacting with all functions relevant for their domain

Qualifications & Education

The Fast Track Leader for Materials should have the following strong qualities:

Excellent knowledge, expertise in the material & process domain including awareness of aerospace certification, structure design & analysis, geopolitical / regulation challenges and operational priorities such as repair technologies, new concepts/ideas to de-risk supply chain and material sovereignty
Good leadership skills as people need to follow despite his/her not having any resources
Very good internal & external network/ability building a network, managing stakeholders
Very good Communication skills to be able to convince people
English at negotiation level, any other language is a plus

Knowledge in materials encompasses metal & ceramic technologies, composite & polymer technologies, surface & bonding technologies and additive manufacturing.

Especially transversal competences eg. multi-functionality or digitalization are key.

Location of the position:
France or Germany

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
