Financial Assistant, Frankfurt area

Fluent in German and English, international, 24-40h/w


Our customer, an international manufacturer, headquartered in Japan, develops and supplies a wide variety of materials to worldwide leading companies in the automotive, consumer electronics or cosmetics industry.

For a long time, they have had the highest market share, with over 15,000 global staff members, innovating in compound and material processing technologies and providing high valued custom products globally.

For their German office in Frankfurt area, they are currently looking for a Financial Assistant. As a Financial Assistant, you are responsible for handling the day-to-day activities of the accounting and finance department.

This job consists of a wide range of financial and administrative tasks and responsibilities that need to be executed in an effective and on-time manner to support a smooth finance operation.

The Financial Assistant reports to and closely cooperates with the Finance Manager located the Netherlands, their European headquarters.


Job description:


The main responsibilities and tasks include to:

  • Prepare and post receipts, deposits, invoices, refunds and other bookkeeping tasks
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Review and process employee reimbursement requests
  • Prepare and file company tax documents
  • Identify and correct miscalculations and financial discrepancies
  • Stay current up to date with all local regulations, requirements and laws in Germany
  • Actively cooperate with the Management team to ensure a smooth invoicing process
  • Other accounting duties when required

Requirements:


  • Holding a work visa in Germany
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar "Steuerfachangestellte" or "Geprüfter Bilanzbuchhalterin IHK" (accounting qualification equivalent to a university bachelor's degree)
  • At least 23 years of financial administrative experience
  • Familiar with tax related legal requirements for Germany
  • A solid understanding of bookkeeping procedures including crediting and debiting appropriate accounts, posting entries to ledger accounts and reconciling accounts
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both German and English. The Japanese languages skills are advantageous.
  • Accurate, wellorganized working style and great time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Always keeps the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and remotely (3 days a week)
  • Ability to travel to the office for 2 days a week, so, ideally lives on a max. 1h travel distance
  • Works well in an international team environment

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Permanent

Part-time hours: 40 per week


Salary: 3,000.00€ - 3,500.00€ per month
