With over four game releases under our belt we are currently building our biggest project yet, and we would like you to join us:
About the role:
As the VFX and Animation Artist you will work with our art team, game designers and in close cooperation with our resident tech artist.
You will have the opportunity to experiment with unconventional VFX styles and explore your interest in visual storytelling, immersion and believable world building.
The VFX and Animation Artist will be part of Studio Fizbin - an award-winning independent games studio with offices in Berlin and Ludwigsburg.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop flashy and stylish 3D VFX for isometric real time combat in a 2.5D game
- Collaborate with tech artist to find creative solutions for low spec VFX needs and generate a high output volume
- Realize typography, collage, graffiti and other unconventional graphic design styles as VFX in Unity
- Collaborate with game designers on VFX planning and smart implementation
Requirements:
Our ideal VFX and Animation Artist has a profound understanding of the art pipeline within game development and is accustomed to agile, iterative production processes.
They appreciate and demonstrate open, empathetic and professional communication and demonstrate a deep fascination for visual design and creative problem-solving.
To succeed in this role, it is also essential that you have the following:- Minimum three years of industry experience in game development or animation
- Proficiencies in Unity, Blender & After Effects
- Solid 2D Animation skills for UI and VFX
- Strong ideation, brainstorming and documentation skills
- Comfortable using kinetic typography and collage techniques in their work
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, close communication with Production and Direction
Bonus points:
We would also love to see if you have 3D animation skills (including 3D character animation) or graphic illustration skills (icons, typography, doodles, graffiti stencils).
German language skills or being based in Berlin or Ludwigsburg could be a bonus point, but they are definitely not a must, as remote work is also possible.
