Head of A320 Family Customer Line Operations Group (d/f/m)

We are looking for a Head of A320 Family Customer Line Operations Group (d/f/m) within Airbus Commercial Aircraft located in Hamburg.

You will be part of the international team within the A320 Family Customer Line with a possible start date of June 2023 or earlier.


The A320 Family Customer Line is responsible for all aircraft maintenance and testing operations between following the Final Assembly Line (FAL) up until the Ferry Flight.

The Customer Line also integrates the lead of all customer acceptance and delivery activities until final aircraft delivery to the airline customer.

In this position you lead one Production Group within the A320 Family Customer Line Operations Team in Hamburg (~20 people) consisting of aircraft mechanics & avionics.

Your team is accountable to conduct all aircraft maintenance operations and maintenance tests on factory-fresh aircraft (i.e. periodical maintenance checks, static checks, ground engine runs, rejected take-off, production flights and customer acceptance flights).

You will ensure full compliance to the rules established between Airbus and the regulating bodies in accordance with the Airbus Production Organization Approval for European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for Part 21 and Part 145.

You will ensure that state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance practices (airline or maintenance, repair and Operations, short MRO, benchmark) are established while meeting the expected performance and volume targets for all activities linked to aircraft operation, maintenance and troubleshooting: On time, on cost, on quality - and always safe


You challenge the status quo of our operations where needed, and enable the Customer Line Hamburg to meet the growth demands of the long-awaited aviation market recovery in a sustainable and efficient manner.


Furthermore, you take the lead to drive strategic game-changers as well as improvement actions for day-to-day operations whilst relying on the Airbus Operating System (AOS) as the industrial backbone.


Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • As a Head of A320 Family Customer Line Operations Group you are part of an international team delivering our great products to our valuable customers
  • You are in charge of ~20 people maintaining aircraft operations and tests on factoryfresh aircraft
  • Ensuring full compliance to the rules established between Airbus and the regulating bodies will be one of your tasks
  • You are an ambassador of pragmatic and problemsolving thinking with a strong operational focus.
  • Being part of a Multi-FunctionalDelivery Team (MFT) to ensure aircraft deliveries on customer satisfaction, on quality and on time
  • You support the enablement of our company's goal to meet the growth demands of the longawaited aviation market recovery in a sustainable and efficient manner

Desired skills and qualifications

Your educational background:


  • You have completed a university degree in production engineering and have several years of management experience in production or a productionrelated area.
  • Technician / master craftsman or equivalent qualification acquired by other means with many years of experience in aviation manufacturing operations

Your hard skills and qualifications:


  • You look back at several years of experience in customer management and services
  • You have a profound knowledge of Health and Safety methods and the corresponding standards
  • Relevant experiences working on Change Management is part of your profile
  • You have a deep understanding of Lean Management
  • Expertise and knowledge of stateoftheart tools and methodologies for aircraft maintenance
  • You have good knowledge of regulatory frameworks for aircraft maintenance oper
