    Bloom Engineering improves the environmental sustainability of industrial heating applications, particularly focused on the aluminum and steel industries. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, USA since 1934, Bloom serves its global customers from subsidiaries in the United States, Germany, India, and China.

    Bloom's knowledge and experience in furnace and heating applications provides meaningful competitive advantage to our customers by reducing CO2 and NOX, conversion to sustainable fuel sources, increasing production capacity, improving temperature uniformity, reducing fuel consumption, and enhancing operating flexibility.

    Position Summary:

    Located in our Dusseldorf office, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment, ensuring each project is completed on time, in budget, and within scope. This is achieved by working in concert with Sales, Design Engineering and the Manufacturing teams to managing the expectations of the customer in conjunction with understanding internal and external capabilities, resource availability, and execution of the projects. The Project Manager must have the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting the expected gross margins and customer's delivery schedule. The Project Manager must be able to identify constraints and offer constructive resolution to mitigate the risk of not achieving on time delivery.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the manufacturing and sales cycle, providing regular status updates.
    • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the commercial group, engineering team and at times senior management.
    • Work with internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing) to determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete each project.
    • Create a detailed work plan and schedule, which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the assigned project.
    • Document project activities, adjusting as necessary, to ensure successful project completion.
    • Coordinate price changes and extended delivery dates when customers change the scope of the project.
    • Review the quality of the work completed on a regular basis to ensure it meets the specified standards.
    • Prepare reports on the project for internal stakeholders and management.
    • Monitor all budgeted project expenditures.
    • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to Senior Management on a regular basis.
    • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and within scope.
    • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase through a final written report.
    • Ensure timely invoicing and payment follow-up, if needed.
    • Conduct a "Close Out" meeting at the end of the project. Develop and manage a list of action items from the close out meeting to correct any pitfalls and document lessons learned.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Engineering, preferred.
    • Must have a technical background.
    • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
    • Experience in industrial sector project management is preferred.
    • Able to communicate in German and English both verbally and in writing.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • PMP or equivalent project management certification is desired.
    • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to achieve tight deadlines.
    • Analytically oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
    • Familiar with project finance and cost control management.
    • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel (intermediate to expert level), PowerPoint.
    • Fundamental understanding of ERP systems and how they integrate operations with project integration.
    • Initiative to drive continuous improvement as it relates to project planning through project evaluation.
    • Energetic, curious, resourceful, highly creative and self-motivated.
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage cross functionally.
