The faculty of Arts and Humanities offers positions for

2 Postdoctoral researchers (f/m/d)
(the salary is according to 13 TV-L)***available from July 1st, 2023, limited for 2,5 years. The full-time positions are part of the project
B06 "_Ethics and Normativity of explainable AI_" within the Transregional Collaborative Research
Center 318 "Constructing Explainability" of the Universities Paderborn and Bielefeld. Within this
collaboration, scientific work will focus on the development of co-constructing explainable AI
- systems.

The project inquires into the normativity of explanation - when is it desired, warranted, needed?
It will consider the inherent norms of digital technology, particularly artificial intelligence, as well
as the norms of social practices

Responsibilities
- scientific work in the project B06 in close collaboration between philosophy and media stud
- ies;
- publications and presentations of the project results;
- participation in activities of the Integrated Research Training Group;
- networking within the Transregional Collaborative Research Center;
- interdisciplinary communication and cooperation.

Essential Qualifications:
-
PhD or advanced dissertation project in philosophy, media studies, or a related discipline

Knowledge in ethics of technology and normative theories
or

knowledge in software studies, critical algorithm studies, STS, or similar areas
- very good English skills (The working language of the Transregional Collaborative Re
- search Center is English, although you will be part of largely German speaking depart
- ments)

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge in computer science, or programming
