Your challenge:

As Senior Legal Counsel (d/f/m), you will play a leading role in a business-critical team.

Among other things, you will help shape our business in projects around our corporate development, international expansion, and new financial services.

You will be in the driver's seat of your own projects and work with the different business areas in a collaborative and cross-functional setup to achieve business goals and support the company mission.

You will work closely with the rest of the Legal & Compliance team and the entire business, you will meet inspiring and driven people from all over the world and be in a position to achieve meaningful impact and personal growth while having a lot of fun.

Your responsibilities:

Advise the business on a wide range of corporate matters and projects, which are crucial for Taxfix for taking the next steps in its corporate development.
Set the agenda and drive the transition of the Taxfix parent company from a German AG into a European Stock Corporation (SE) and help build out stateoftheart corporate governance.
Define and establish sound group structures including efficient subsidiary management in close alignment with Finance, management, and other key stakeholders.
Establish and manage a network of local counsels in all our (potential) markets.
Drive key compliance initiatives and help design and implement processes in line with our corporate development.
Oversee and negotiate critical agreements and transactions.
Advise and support our product team when developing new features.
Besides the focus on corporate matters, you will work as a generalist in several key focus areas of the Legal and Compliance team. This will include advising various product teams on a wide range of international commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
You handle communication and define strategy toward critical stakeholders.
Add value as a strong advocate for sound risk management and Compliance in all matters you take up.
You add value by owning your areas of work and approaching the business proactively. You enjoy working on business critical challenges and developing pragmatic and businessminded solutions.
You become a key player in a great Legal and Compliance team and report directly to the General Counsel. The role can include personnel responsibility as the team grows further.

Your profile:

A fully qualified lawyer in German law with an excellent academic record.
4+ years of relevant working experience in an international law firm and/or inhouse environment with a focus on corporate/commercial matters.
Enthusiastic to work on all types of legal matters.
Experience with GDPR, commercial law, ecommerce, or financial service regulation is considered a big plus.
Ideally some inhouse experience in fastscaling businesses and startups.
Excellent communication skills and a natural approach to building relationships across the entire business.
Curious to grow and develop within new areas.
Strong business acumen with the ability to partner with management to achieve growth and profitability goals while mitigating risks.
Enthusiastic about working on multinational matters and together with a highly motivated international team.
Excellent command of English and German. Further languages, especially Spanish and Italian, are considered a plus.
