Are you up for a new challenge on the interface between Sales and Operations?

To strengthen the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) Team of the Business Line Stainless Europe, we are looking for a
Demand Planning Expert.

The full-time position is limited for two years.

Purpose of the role
As a Demand Planning Expert you will be responsible for demand planning going into the S&OP process.

You coordinate with Sales the unconstrained bottom-up forecast, you provide alternative Forecasts using statistical methods and macroeconomic forecasting methods and you facilitate the process to build the consensus Forecast.

What you will do

Coordination planning and forecasting routines for the unconstrained Demand FC (Forecast)
Enable an efficient and accurate data entry from sales
Verify and challenge sales input
Consolidate the FC and analysis vs Plan and prior FC
Monitor contracts and project sales FC
Generate and constantly improve the statistical forecast using historical data
Provide macroeconomic FC based on leading economic indicators and drive the continuous improvement process on FC accuracy to get the best profitability for the BL
Facilitate the process to build the consensus FC in alignment with Sales
Disaggregate and release constrained forecast after reconciliation
Built solid crossfunctional relationships, especially between Sales and SCM
Align and communicate plans between business lines
Active cooperation in creating the Annual Operating Plan together with Sales and Controlling
Ensure transparent and efficient reporting on the demand plan and FC accuracy
Provide demand planning related analyses as required (e.g. product mix, sales trends, booking status)
Active role in the tool development on the demand planning side, especially the OMP solution for the S&OP process
Ensure proper data maintenance in OMP and other demand FC related tools

The essentials

University degree in Business administration or similar
First experience in demand planning, ideally in the process industry
Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for quantitative decision analysis
Good communication and influencing abilities in a multinational environment
Competence to translate analysis into messages, recommendations, and actions
Advanced skills in spreadsheet and relational database tools (Excel, PowerBI)
Comfort in dealing with numbers and big volumes of data
Strong drive for continuous improvement and personal development
High problemsolving skills and good sense of urgency to find solutions
Ability to build solid crossfunctional and crossbusiness line relationships
Strong entrepreneurial attitude with high business sense
Excellent level in English is needed
Willingness to travel

The team

As a member of the SCM team of the Business Line Stainless Europe you will report to the Head of Demand and Supply Planning Stainless Europe and work alongside a multinational team of five.

Our purpose is to balance overall demand and supply in the tactical horizon in order to ensure optimal use of our assets.

In your role as a Demand Planning Expert, you will work closely with the Sales team of Business Line Stainless Europe and Supply Chain Management colleagues.
