YOUR OPPORTUNITY


As Head of EMEA Accounting & Controlling you will accurately account, manage, and reconcile general ledger balances for the Company's EMEA entities to ensure US GAAP and statutory accounting compliance.

This role is remote in Germany with the opportunity to collaborate in our Hamburg or Wiesbaden offices.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 7 to 10 years' experience in a highgrowth, international company (preferably SaaS / Software)
  • CA or CPA Preferred
  • Solid understanding of accounting guidance including multipleelement arrangements, lease accounting, software development capitalization, sharebased compensation, translation / remeasurement, etc
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience with consolidation and foreign currency issues
  • Experience working with midlevel ERP software (NetSuite) a plus
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of VAT and Income tax reporting and requirements a plus
  • Positive, energetic, optimistic attitude, willing to proactively take on responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Principal Accountabilities

Monthly Duties includes the review and oversight of the following:

  • Review and oversight of recording of accrued liabilities related to incurred but not invoiced vendor bills
  • Review and oversight of recording of payroll and benefit journal entries and related reconciliations to payroll registers
  • Working with Global Payroll and EMEA Payroll Team to ensure all EMEA payroll actions have been actioned
  • Review and oversight of recording of prepaid assets and related reconciliations
  • Review and oversight of accounting for VAT/ GST and compliance with related filings
  • Review and oversight of FX revaluations
  • Review and oversight of bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely recording of cash transactions
  • Explain account balance variances to support monthly BOD reporting
  • Perform review of account reconciliations in Blackline
  • Perform and/or review accounting close checklist tasks in Blackline

Annual Duties includes the review and oversight of the following:

  • Review and oversight of transfer pricing entries to support tax returns
  • Coordinate with tax to ensure timely Global Tax Director compliance and support, including withholding tax
  • Assist with quarterly intercompany collapse/ invoicing/ journal entries and related accounting
  • Perform statutory audit coordination, as needed

Other Duties

  • Provide assistance to Global Revenue Team with review of contracts, as needed
  • Provide assistance to Global AR Team with cash collections, as needed
  • Provide assistance to Global AP Team with supplier inquiries and/ or management
  • Assist US Team with consolidated audit inquiries, as needed
  • Perform ad hoc accounting projects to automate accounting processes/ functions
  • Assist Finance/ EMEA Finance Director (FP&A) with budgeting and forecasting
  • Implement and adhere to internal controls
  • Assist with RFPs as required
  • Assist Legal with the maintenance and renewal of insurance policies
